Common Admission Test (CAT) 2011

CAT is a computer-based test (CBT) in which a candidate reads the questions on a computer terminal and chooses an answer by clicking on the correct option. The total duration of CAT 2011 will be two hours and thirty-five minutes including a 15 minute tutorial session to be provided before the start of the test and the actual examination which will be of 140 minutes duration Educational Qualification :A candidate who has either secured or is likely to secure a first class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a first class Master’s degree in Science (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) or a first class Master’s degree in Economics or Commerce (with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor’s level) is eligible for admission. Selection will be based on application rating, performance in CAT for domestic students and GMAT for international students, and candidate’s performance in group discussion and personal interview. Post-qualification work experience in industrial organizations will be given due consideration. 5 Years Integrated MBA Admissions 2011-2012

BIT offers a 5 year (10 Semester) Integrated MBA Programme for all eligible Class XII pass-outs aspiring for a career in the field of business management. This programme will be offered at BIT Lalpur (Ranchi City), Kolkata, Noida, Jaipur & Allahabad Centres from the session 2011-12.

On the successful completion of the 5-year Programme, the students will be awarded the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree. The students who want to acquire only an undergraduate qualification, will have an option of getting a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree on successful completion of 3-years of this Programme. This option will have to be exercised at the end of the second year of study.

 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have 60 % (50% for SC/ST) marks in Class 10 (average of required subjects). Candidates must have 60 % (50% for SC/ST) marks (average of 4 subjects as indicated below) in Class 12 / QE (Equivalent Qualifying Examination). Candidates must have 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in English Percentage of marks in Class 12 to be computed as average of English + best 3 other required subjects.

Notes:The maximum age limit for admission is 21 years (26 years for SC/ST candidates) as on 1 Oct 2011.Candidates who have appeared for final examinations of QE in 2011 and whose results are not yet declared, can also apply.

Selection Procedure:

In view of its emphasis on professional execellence and wide network throughout the country, the Govt. of India as well as almost all the states of the country look at NIPM as a body of expert in the vital area of management of Human Resources . As a natural collolary, NIPM has been conducting academic conferring Post Graduate Diploma in Personal Management(PGDPM) since 1978.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates should at least be Graduates from a recognized University or its equivalent, with a minimum of 50% marks in the degree examination. IIM Kokata | Placement rises 33 percent from last year

The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) conducted its summer placements for the batch of 2009-11 from November 4 to November 9, 2009. The process, which lasted for six days (including a Sunday), ended with all 407 students of the batch landing with an offer.

With the new Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) stipulations, IIM-C had a larger intake than any other IIM. This gave rise to a batch, which was bigger than any other seen in any IIM's history, recording a 33% increase from last year.

The batch had its highly diverse background, with students who held offers from colleges such as NYU Stern, Cornell, University of Bocconi (Italy), London School of Economics and HEC Paris among others. Many had worked in firms such as Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, McKinsey and Merrill Lynch before coming to IIM-C.

The 2009-11 batch boasted of diversity generally unseen in Indian B-schools.
