(Overview)Review of FMS - 2007
Review of FMS - 2007
FMS Entrance Examination was held on January 21, 2007. Aspirants had to work on a total of 175 questions within the allotted time of two hours. This year the focus of the paper was essentially on speed. As most questions were in the “easy” to “moderately difficult” range, selectivity was also not a major criterion. The marking scheme was +4 for each correct answer and –1 for every wrong answer.

Section-Wise Analysis:
Lets now review each of the four sections in detail.
Section 1: English Usage
While the questions on Synonyms, Antonyms and Spelling Correction were rather simple, those on Analogies required some amount of thought. However, this section was a lot simpler than that in the previous years.

Section 2: Reading Comprehension
Most questions were factual and could be attempted without extensively browsing through the passages. The passages on Corporate Scandals and AIDS were particularly easy. However, the typical “which of the following is not true” required a more comprehensive perusal. A couple of passages however, did require an understanding of the subtle nuances of the language. Ideally questions from the passage on “Lending” should have been best left un-attempted.
