The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) is one of the leading Institutes of Management, set up by the Government of India. The Institute's mission is to help improve the management of corporate and non-corporate sectors and public systems, through the pursuit of excellence in management education, research, consulting and training.
The NOIDA Campus of IIM-L is evolving as a leading center in the area of executive education, research, industry interaction and training. Its vision has evolved from the IIM-L mission, with a focus on mid-career and executive level management education, training and dissemination. The society and particularly the Indian economy at this stage of rapid and all enveloping change and globalization, has a great need for managerial talent that will help drive the change, and there is an urgent need for executives at the middle and senior levels to contribute to this. The focus of Noida Campus of IIM-L is on the needs of this particular group of management talent. The WMP is the first of the programs launched to leverage IIM-L's resources for catalyzing change through instance, intensive mid-career long term educational programs. It has also launched the International Program in Management for Executives (the IPMX), where classes begin in April 2008.
How Is IIML - NOIDA Campus Different From Other Business Schools?
The IIML, NOIDA Campus is focused on delivering a unique value addition experience for its executive participants. The IIM-L resources and processes deployed at this Campus, come with all the rigour and quality that has led to its current repute as a leading educational institution in the country. Secondly, the deep focus on executive talent requirements in the country, has led to unique program designs and delivery based around practitioners and their needs. The academic structure has been designed through many consultative rounds within the academia and the industry.
IIML - NOIDA Campus programs, ensure that students are given a high level of exposure to the contemporary business processes and modern business tools. The program builds on the candidate's rich work experience with the conceptual ideas and strategic inputs necessary for business leadership, and achieving business excellence.
The Resources
To a great extent, the faculty and students define and symbolise their institution with their contributions, within and outside the campus. This basic principle pushes us to aim for the best resources. The IIM-L faculty comprises seasoned industry campaigners as well as intellectuals from a diverse set of areas. At present, the Institute has core faculty strength of sixty three, with over ten percent being based at Noida currently (with an increase in strength in Noida being envisaged as activities increase at Campus). Apart from teaching post graduate management courses, faculty members are engaged in research, training and providing consulting to various organizations. These activities facilitate two-way transfer of knowledge, through continuous institute-organisation interaction. NOIDA Campus will be fully coordinated by IIML faculty in assistance with industry experts sourced from all over the country.
Campus
The NOIDA Campus of IIM-L is housed in a 20-acre site at Sector 62 in NOIDA. The classes of the WMP are being held at the modern, state of the art Academic Block, which houses the lecture halls and program office. The Campus is also preparing to house the IPMX program candidates in an appropriate hostel accommodation on campus, since that is a fully residential program. The other Blocks on the Campus will comprise a well-equipped library, a modern computer centre, mess facilities, a medical centre, an executive hostel, sports facilities as well as residential buildings.
Programme Objectives
Post-Graduate Programme in Business Management for Working Managers (WMP) is a uniquely designed programme meant for working executives, entrepreneurs and professionals, who desire to enhance their managerial knowledge and skills in a formal setting while continuing to work in their ongoing professions/businesses. The program is structured to meet the unique learning needs and methodology of those who continue to work, and at the same time, maintaining the rigour and standards expected from regular post graduate programs in business. It aims at developing strong conceptual fundamentals and skills required to manage businesses of the future. The WMP aims to help inculcate leadership and teamwork amongst participants, and foster the development of change agents to take leadership roles in the global arena. Batch Size and Reservation
It is planned to take sixty students for the academic year 2008-2009. Included in this is 15% and 7.5% reservation for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category candidates, respectively, and 3% seats are reserved for Persons with Disability (PWD) who fulfill the admission requirements. The three categories of disability are: (a) low-vision/blindness, (b) hearing impairment, and (c) locomotor disability/cerebral palsy.

Teaching Methodology
The basket of teaching methods employed includes case discussions, lectures, exercises, seminars, role plays, management games, project work, audio-visual aids, and computer-based learning tools.
Fees and Expenses
The total annual fee is Rs. One lakh thirty five thousand (i.e. Rs.1,35,000/-). This fee would be charged each year. This total fee is to be paid in three equal installments before the beginning of each term of the three terms in an academic year (i.e. Rs.45,000/- per Term). It includes Admission Fee, Tuition Fee, Library Fee, Books and Instructional Materials, etc.
In addition to this, there would be an Alumni Membership Fee of Rs. Five thousand, (Rs. 5000/-) paid as a one time fee, during the first year, at the time of registration to the course.
Further, candidates also need to deposit an additional amount of Rs. Ten thousand (Rs.10000/-) as a refundable security deposit.
The fees are subject to revision.
Class Schedule
Thursdays and Fridays: 6.15 pm - 9.30 pm; Saturdays: 2.30 pm - 9.30 pm. Typically the terms last for thirteen weeks each, and the academic year starts in the first week of July, and ends in the last week of April.
Time to Complete the Programme
The normal time to complete the requirements for the Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management is three years. However, students who fail to meet the prescribed minimum academic standards may be allowed one more year on account of extenuating circumstances.
System of Evaluation
A 10-point letter grade scale from A+ (10 points) to F (0 point) is finally used in each course to measure academic performance. At the end of each Term a Term Grade Point Average (TGPA) to reflect the Term performance and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) as a composite index to reflect the cumulative performance of a student up to that Term are calculated. There are three Terms in each academic year. At the end of each academic term a student's performance must be above the minimum required for her/him to move to the next term or year.
Placement
Since this programme is for the Working Managers, the Institute will not offer any placement facility to students.
