Job Description:

The Government of India has made significant progress in shifting its focus from post disaster relief to pre-disaster preparedness, mitigation and risk reduction. There is an increasing emphasis on integrating disaster risk reduction measures in development planning, programming and promoting a culture of prevention and preparedness. Efforts are also being made to establish and sustain dedicated budgets for disaster risk reduction. The 11th Five Year Plan document of Government of India gives impetus on addressing disaster risk reduction as one of the priority of all development programmes. The current key focuses are to strengthen the capacity at the level of the Centre, states and disaster management institutions to integrate DRR into development planning, implement specific DRR projects, enhance regional, sub-regional and bilateral cooperation for early warning dissemination, knowledge networking and sharing of good practices on disaster risk reduction.

Qualifications:

• Post Graduate degree in, social sciences, geography, environment, economics, management or similar fields
• Highest Education: Masters Degree
