Eligibility for IMI Entrance Exam 2008

The Programme is targeted at individuals with high potential for success in their chosen career. Selection is therefore very rigorous and competitive.

 

Academic Qualification

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 50% aggregate marks in any discipline under 10 + 2+ 3 system from a recognized University. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor's degree are also eligible, provided they complete all formalities of their examination before June 30, 2007 and furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by September 30, 2007.

 

IMI Admission Procedure

Application Form for IMI Entrance Exam 2008: IMI Brochure and Application Form can be acquired by one time payment of Rs. 1200/- for one programme and Rs. 2000/- for two programmes through following means

  • By cash payment at IMI

  • By post (enclosing demand draft drawn in favour of IMI payable at Delhi)

  • By downloading from www.imi.edu. (enclosing demand draft drawn in favour of IMI payable at Delhi or by cash at IMI)

  • On-line application (need to make a payment by credit card) (on-line availability and mailing of Brochure and Application material will begin from August 10, 2007).

 

Admission Test

 Candidates are required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institutes of Management at different Centres all over the country. The CAT examination will be held on November 18, 2007.

 

IMI will receive the test scores from the IIM for those candidates who have appeared in the CAT and have also applied to IMI for the two-year PGDM and PGDM-HR. IMI uses CAT scores for short-listing candidates. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. Foreign students and NRI sponsored candidates are required to take the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) at a test centre outside India.

 

Extempore Speaking and Interview

 Extempore speaking and personal interview are integral components of the admissions' process. Besides, the selection procedure also entails evaluating writing skills. The overall objective is to identify and assess the candidates communication ability, in addition to the overall knowledge of the student. Besides Delhi, the selection process is normally conducted at other centres including Bangalore, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Jaipur, Trivandrum & Hyderabad. Candidates should indicate their preferred centre(s) for interview in the application form. If a candidate's preferred centre is not available, the candidate will be informed of the change. IMI reserves the right to cancel any of the centres for the selection process.

 

Admission Offer

 Final selection will be based on a careful evaluation of the applicant's academic record, work experience (if any), CAT Score, extempore speaking and personal Interview. Successful candidates will be informed of their final selection by March, 2008. The selected candidates must pay their first fee installment within two weeks of receiving the admission offer, failing which the offer will be withdrawn.
