XAT 2010 | Admission Test

Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is one of the most popular tests among the MBA aspirants all over India conducted by Xavier Labour Research Institute, Jamshedpur (XLRI). For more than 50 years XLRI is conducting Admission Test on all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education. Our long experience and the expertise have helped us in extending this test to other Management Institutes. Eligibility:
A three-year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as eligible for Post-Graduate studies in Management.

XAT Test Pattern & Syllabus
Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) for admission to post-graduate degree programmes in management at XLRI, Xavier Institute of Management (XIM), Xavier Institute ofSocial Service (XISS) and Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA). The test pattern of XAT is more or less on similar lines with CAT.

XAT is a two-hour paper and usually has 200 questions. However, note that the number of question and distribution of marks may change from time to time. The time limit for each section is usually 40 minutes. The paper is divided into three sections:

The Number of Sections: 3 (With an Essay after the test)
The Number of Questions: 200 (It may change time to time)
No of Choices per question: 4
Time given for the paper: 120 min
Time given for the essay: 20 min
Marks for correct answer: +1
Marks for wrong answer: -1/3

Essay Topic: Students are expected to write an essay of about 250-300 words in 20 minutes.
