IGNOU OPENMAT 2010 Entrance Exan Notification

Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) conducts OPENMAT for admission to its various Post-Graduate Management Programmes. IGNOU was established through Indira Gandhi National Open University Act in 1985 as a means to provide higher education through distant and open means so as to reach a large number of presopective students across the country. IGNOU provides education through a number of centers in India and overseas. All its Programs are thoroughly recognised by University Grants Commission & Association of Indian Universities(AIU).

IGNOU’s MBA program is also approved by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE). IGNOU is one of the largest universities of the world with nearly 1.4 million students in India alone. Through OPENMAT candidates can get admission to MBA, Diploma and various Post Graduate Diploma in Management Programmes. OPENMAT is conducted twice a year in February & August.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM)
Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM)
Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM)
Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM)
Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM)

Eligibility criteria :
Candidate with either of the following qualifications are eligible to appear for management programmes of IGNOU:

Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of supervisory/managerial/professional experience.
Professional Degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine/Architecture/Law/Pharmacy.
Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/Cost and Works Accountancy/Company Secretaryship, etc.
Master’s degree in any subject.

For Diploma in Management(DIM) non-graduates with 6 years of managerial/supervisory/professional experience are also eligible.

Availability of Application Forms:
Application Forms will be available from IGNOU, New Delhi and from all Regional Centres, Study Centres, and IGNOUARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE AND ASSAM RIFLES Recognised Regional Centres. It will also be available on IGNOU’s website www.ignou.ac.in.

Important Dates(Tentative):
Date of Entrance Examination: 7th February, 2010
Availability of Application Forms: October, 2009
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms:30th November, 2009

Examination pattern:
The duration of OPENMAT will be 3 hours and it will contain 200 multiple choice questions from the following sections:
a) General Awareness-30 questions
b) English Language-50 questions
c) Quantitative Aptitude-50 questions
d) Reasoning-70 questions
