Institute of Hotel Management | Undergraduate Hotel Management Programme 2010

Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Meerut (IHM Meerut) conducts an admission process for admission to its undergraduate hotel management programme. IHM was established in 1987 and since then is considered to be among the reputed institutes for hotel management education. It is equipped with an advanced infrastructure and has a very good faculty. Candidates after passing from IHM have gone onto work for some of the leading hotel organisations like Taj Group of Hotels, Oberoi Group of Hotels, ITC Welcome Group etc.

Candidates are admitted to its bachelor and diploma programmes through a written test conducted by National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology(NCHMCT) and an interview conducted by IHM Meerut. Only the candidates who are shortlisted through NCHMCT written test are called for interview. Candidates have to apply separately for admission in IHM Meerut.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English as a subject. Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2010 can also apply.

Also a candidate should not be more than 22 years of age(25 years for SC/ST) as on 1st July, 2010.

Important Dates(Tentative):
Last Date for receipt of application forms: Mid, April, 2010

Selection Criteria:
Candidiates are first shortlisted on the basis of a written exam conducted by NCHMCT. shortlisted candidates are called for interview after which final selections are done.

Pattern of NCHMCT:
The paper will be of 3 hours duration consisting of 200 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each divided in the following sections:
Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude-30 questions
Reasoning and Logical Deduction-30 questions
General Knowledge & Current Affairs-30 questions
English Language-80 questions
Aptitude for Service Sector-30 questions

There will be negative marking upto 1/2 marks for all the sections except Aptitude for Service Sector.
