Introduction: The University of Hyderabad, a premier institution of post graduate teaching and research in the country, was established by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 39 of 1974) on 2nd October, 1974 as a Central University, Wholly financed by the University Grants Commission.
Eligibility: Should have completed a three-year bachelor’s degree programme (or its equivalent) in any discipline in an institution recognized by the Association of Indian Universities/AICTE. Those completing their final examinations by June, 2010 can also apply;
Should have applied for and take the CAT-WINDOW 2009, scheduled between 28th November to 7th December, 2009 (The IIMs CAT advertisement appeared in leading newspapers on 30th August, 2009);
Should apply to the University of Hyderabad indicating the CAT Registration No and Test Centre Code in the prescribed form before the cut off date.
Admission Criteria: The following criteria shall be followed, one after the other, to resolve the ties, where candidates secure the same marks in the written test :
(a) First criterion: Marks obtained in Part – A of the question paper.
(b) Second criterion: Division and marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree examination. If the final result is not available then the marks up to the 2nd year will be taken into account.
(c) Third criterion: Division and marks obtained in the degree examination immediately preceding the qualifying degree examination.
(d) Fourth criterion: Division and Marks obtained in the next lower public examination.
Application Fee: Demand Draft for Rs 450/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs 200/- for SC/ST/PH candidates, drawn in favour of Finance Officer, University of Hyderabad on State Bank of India, Hyderabad Central University Branch, Hyderabad (Code No 5916) or on Andhra Bank, Nampally Branch, Hyderabad.
Application Form: The Prospectus-cum-Application form can also be downloaded from the University’s website at www.uohyd.ernet.in from 30TH October, 2009. The downloaded application form, duly filled in as per the instructions and with supporting papers, should be sent to the Deputy Registrar (Acad and Exams) together with a Bank Draft of Rs 200/- in the case of General and OBC candidates and Rs 75/- in the case of SC/ST/PH candidates.
