CAT 2015 Eligibility:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (It may also be referred to as Persons With Disability (PWD) categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/ CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.

The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct Common Admission Test 2015 (CAT 2015) on 29th November, 2015 in two sessions. CAT 2015 will be conducted by IIMs as a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs. These programmes are:

A. Post Graduate Programmes in Management:

CAT 2015 Eligibility:

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2016 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2016) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.

IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at the website www.iimcat.ac.in. Applicants should note that the mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs. Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.

How to Apply:

XAT Registration:Visit xatonline.net.in and click "XAT Registration". Fill preliminary information, enter a password of your choice and submit it. After submission of these details applicant receives XAT ID by email.
(Next time you will be allowed to login with your XAT ID and password).

Complete Form: Login to XAT account and fill educational and other details and choose the test city.

Fee Payment: The fee for XAT 2015 is Rs. 1000.00 (Rupees One Thousand only) for all applicants.

Select Mode of Payment: There are three possible modes of payment

Mode 1 (Online Payment Gateway)

  • Through VISA/Master Credit/Debit Cards (American Express Card is inadmissible)
  • IDBI Net banking (this option is available only for IDBI account holder)

Xavier Aptitude Test

XAT 2015 will be conducted on 4th January 2015


The format of XAT would remain pen-paper based. This is to ensure that candidates of all backgrounds are at par, so that those who have pre-familiarity of operating computers, specially coming from privileged background or having worked in IT sector, do not get any advantage over others who do not have access to computers. The paper-pen mode also ensures that all candidates are tested on exactly the same set of questions, and not on different sets.

About XAT:

XAT 2015 will be conducted on Sunday 4th January 2015. XLRI conducts test on behalf of the XAMI. For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting test at all India level to select the most appropriate for management education. The test score is being used by more than 100 institutes for the admission.

Eligibility

The candidates must hold a Recognized bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline or complete their graduation by June 10, 2015.

CAT 2013 Result

A total of 1.74 lakh candidates had appeared for CAT 2013. The CAT 2013 Results, however, shows that 95000 of those appearing for CAT either scored zero marks or obtained overall negative marks. The score cards released by IIMs on January 14 shows that the candidate who did not even answer any of the questions in the CAT 2013 paper, scored around 55 percentile. The official score card of a CAT 2013 taker who did not attempt a single question, has a percentile as high as 55. In other words, the candidates who had left their paper blank would have managed at least 55 percentile this year. The score card below also implies that those candidates who would have scored at least 1 mark would have emerged with anything more than 55 percentile in their CAT 2013 exams.

The first MAT exam of the year, is scheduled for Sunday, 5th February, 2012. The computer based test will start from Saturday, 11th February, 2012. If you are serious about the exam, you must be halfway through your preparation. But if you know the areas and topics which are most likely to appear for the exam, it will help you prepare in a better and systematic manner.

MAT exam consists of four sections of Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and Indian and Global Environment. The number of questions is 200 and the duration of the paper is 150 minutes.
